Super Redstone A1400

OUT OF STOCK

Sorry! We'll work to get this item back in stock as fast as possible. Please check back soon, and thanks for your patience.

This complete rig is ready to make crisp photos for plant health analysis. It is a fully assembled Classic Redstone Rig and Picavet or pendulum suspension (choose suspension above). Also included is a new (refurbished) Canon PowerShot A1400 that has been converted to super-red Infragram with an internal Wratten 25A filter replacing the IR block filter. A custom white balance has been saved so photos can produce pure infrared, false color infrared, or NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) images for vegetation analysis. The camera includes a 4GB SD card with CHDK installed so it can begin taking photos every seven seconds with a single extra button push (the interval is easily adjusted). The rig has been customized for the Canon A1400 so the camera is held securely and perfectly balanced under the suspension.

This kit includes everything in the Classic Redstone Rig Kit and either the Picavet or Pendulum Kit (either suspension clips in easily). All drilling, measuring, gluing, and lacing has been done so you can be flying in 15 minutes. Color of rig might differ from photos.

The included Canon A1400 is a 16MP camera with a 28mm to 140mm (eq) zoom lens powered by two AA batteries (included). CHDK runs when the camera is powered on and is configured for interval shooting and shutter priority at 1/800 second for sharp photos. Instructions are provided for modifying the settings.

Typical flying weight with battery: 395 grams.

Below is an example of a photo taken by an unmodified A1400 and by the IR A1400 in this Super Redstone Rig and the infrared images derived from the super-red photo.
