The new Redstone Rig Kit 2.0 is a complete redesign of the very first KAPtery product. It includes all the pieces to build a ready-to-fly rig for holding a small point & shoot or mirrorless camera. This includes five 3D printed parts and the hardware to hold them together.
The articulated camera tray allows vertical shooting for mapping and also oblique photography with the rig balanced at all tilt angles. The camera (not included) is attached with a thumb screw (included) into the tripod socket so it stays securely pointed in the same direction. The thumb screw can also attach the included action camera bracket.
The camera controls and LCD screen are always accessible. Protective legs and bumpers (included) can be quickly configured in various ways for different needs. The rig can be easily suspended from the flying line using either a Picavet or pendulum system and requires one or the other for optimal operation.
New with version 2.0 of the Redstone Rig is the slotted camera tray which allows any small camera to be well balanced both front-to-back and side-to-side. No drilling or gluing is required to assemble the rig which takes about an hour.
